![]() ![]() And, at the end of the day, while I’m so glad to be done with the books, I am definitely going to watch the second season because they’ve given me such hope.Ī few years ago, someone recommended the trilogy to me, but they did it in a way that was guaranteed to make me not pick it up. Honestly, brava to Sundance for not only staying true to the source material, but for really breathing authentic, vibrant life into it. ![]() This is one of those few instances where an adaptation not only met all of my expectations, but far exceeded them. It definitely helps that Diana is played by Teresa Palmer, who is wonderful in all ways, and the way Matthew Goode brings Matthew Clairmont to life is just a thing of joy to behold. I 100% prefer it over the books, and I know that’s controversial because “books are better”, but there are some cases, my friends, where that’s not the truth. Not only does it manage to include all the important plot points of a 500+ page book into a single season, it never feels rushed, it gets rid of all the things that don’t belong in a 21st century work about powerful women, and it’s beautiful. Sundance’s adaptation of A Discovery of Witches is near perfect. ![]()

![]() ![]() Sometimes she is petty, sad, grumpy, proud, scared and more. (Could go younger for a stronger reader, context/content is fine, but it might be a bit long for some.) I like that Maureen, though she is often seen as the “perfect one” has realistic issues and emotions. But always about sisters with that “OH how I love to hate her/OH how I love to love her” mentality most of us have with our siblings, even if they are not a twin.Īs an adult there were a few bumps in the flow and story lines/solutions, but ages 8 to 12-13 will enjoy. ![]() A graphic novel about change, growing up (and yes, apart in some ways). Maureen is none too happy about change in general, but especially when it comes to her sister. And that is not the only change: she starts having different classes than Maureen, her friendships change, and she even starts dressing differently. That is until Francine decides to become Fran. The story is simple: Two sisters almost identical (one is slightly taller this one has a scar) and best friends. ![]() Varian Johnson does the “twin thing” (two sisters who are best friends, know each other in ways even their parents cannot know, and are each other’s “partner in crime/fear/whatever is needed), but then makes a new twist with having a modern touch with a blended family of color. Twins: A Graphic Novel has two main elements that make it both familiar and new. ![]() ![]() The Fifteenth edition is fully integrated with MyMarketingLab and is updated where appropriate to provide the most comprehensive, current, and engaging marketing management text as possible. Not to get super side tracked but when I was visiting in London a few years ago, I ended up seeing the entire royal family walk into Westminster for Commonwealth Day. Like I don’t find myself this intrigued in learning about any other royal family, but there’s just something about those British royals. There’s just this air of secrecy about them. I think there’s always been an interest in them but it wasn’t until Princess Diana that people really started following them. It’s such a foreign concept (pun intended) to us that I think we can’t help but grasp on anything revolving around them. I, like many other Americans, love anything that has to do with the royal family. ![]() ![]() ![]() They’re both vying for the same pieces of prime real estate in The Hamptons and neither one plans to give up without a fight.
