I definitely felt that this book was more of a family drama than anything else. I liked reading about The Snyde, and I feel that the idea behind its isolation was good, but I wish the author has perhaps pushed the boundaries a little more and used it to create more tension and fear. I often love isolated settings whilst reading horror or thriller novels, it usually adds a lot of impact to the story. It is described as a fairy tale cottage and it was situated in a place that made it extremely isolated. The main setting in ‘The Uninvited’ was The Snyde. The mystery was good though – who the intruder was and why they were spying on Jay and Mimi was definitely what kept me reading till the end. I did not get this! This book really wasn’t at all scary – and had no sinister atmosphere or particular build up of suspense. The cover and synopsis had me expecting a creepy, sinister read that might leave me glancing over my shoulder while reading. This book really wasn’t what I was expecting. So who is doing this? and what do they really want? He accuses her of being the one leaving him strange & threatening tokens – but Mimi has only just reached Canada. Jay is a musician and equally startled when Mimi wanders in. After driving north up to the cottage, Mimi is surprised to find somebody already there. Mimi Shapiro needs to escape New York City, and jumps at the chance to spend the summer at her father’s remote Canadian cottage.

Twisted, addictive, depraved and enchanting, I was RAVENOUS for this story. This is the best of the best of Rina Kent. The mystery in this book was a nice added touch! If you haven't yet started this series, what are you waiting for? Go for the DL! Y'all-we get some grovel! It's not as much as I would've liked, but I do love me a good grovel moment. Despite how much of a jerk Jeremy can be, he never allows Cecily to be anything other than her TRUE self. Does that stop me from loving it in my romance reads? Absolutely NOT. I love how NEXT LEVEL stalker Jeremy became. OBVIOUSLY we are in for lots of back and forth between these two (both in and out of the sheets, lol). She is kind and will often put the needs of her friends above her own. Although she is fiercely independent, she is also the mother-hen of her friend group. There is nothing particularly nice about his demeanor. A protective brother, but a ruthless leader. So far, we have seen Jeremy as violent yet cunning. In this particular story from the Legacy of Gods series, we get to learn more about Jeremy and Cecily. There's so much to love: the college setting, the accents (I frigging love listening to books with different accents!), the alphahole males, and SO MUCH STEAM. To say that I'm obsessed with this series would be an understatement. It’s not much wonder he joined the army and left town as soon as he could. He thinks he’ll only be there for 3 days, but Earl is wrong. 40 years after his father passed away, Earl returns to his hometown to clean out his family estate for sale. But it’s so much more than literally placing the crown on the sovereign’s head. The word “coronation” is derived from the Latin word “corona” meaning a crown. It will be a fabulously over-the-top spectacle attended by dignitaries from around the world and watched by billions. This is a moment of public celebration of the new King. Eight months on, the coronation will feel very different. It was, as expected, a deeply somber period when the nation came together to bid farewell to its longest-reigning sovereign.
